Håfa Adai:

Welcome to my page. First off, I must thank a very good friend of mine, Dr. Matilda Naputi Rivera for helping me create this as I wasn't sure how to go about doing one. It is my first time ever at a webpage and I hope that I'll be letting you all know what's up and what's happening in my life. There are many things I am currently involved in and I hope to shed light on many of them as they are all done to foster a few things: to help the community, to let people know of what's coming up, and that all of these things I am doing are in God's name and in his son, Jesus Christ. Don't worry. This is not going to be anything religious and I won't impose my religious beliefs on you. Far from it. This will be the only time I will be referring to Divine Providence. I engage in prayerful devotion and I thank HIM for life and for the many blessings that I have but often forget them until much contemplation and reflection.

Please fill free to write me your thoughts and your own opinions, too, whether it's negative, positive, just to vent or to render another side to things. I welcome it and it will only serve to educate me more.

Again, thank you for checking out this blogspot.

Welcome

It's been a long time since the first day that I had my friend, Dr. Matilda Naputi Rivera create this blogspot for me. I didn't forget about it. It's just that I was fairly new at logging on to websites and I must plead ignorance, if not stupidity, as I didn't know any better. I've been pretty good at e-mail messages, sending and receiving, that is, and even that, I was pretty rudimentary. In fact, I didn't know either about BCC until very recently and I would always compose and/or forward interesting tidbits to an e-mail address list that was a mile long. I didn't know any better and was forever e-blasting e-mail addresses of people that, I'm sure, don't relish the thought of having their addresses publicized to everyone around the globe. So, I'm guilty of publicizing private e-mail addresses and, fortunately, I've yet to be scolded or told to knock it off. Knock on wood, huh?

So, here it is, June 5, 2015 and I'm now pledging to do my best to write as regularly on my blogspot and hope that I've made up for the length of time to finally get my act together.

Further, because I'm also guilty in writing in my first love of my indigenous language, I also would like to use this as a forum of sorts to talk about what subject comes to mind. If any of you have not checked out the Pacific Daily News, I have twice-monthly columns in CHamoru on a subject that strikes my attention at that moment. My column is entitled CHETTON GALAIDE' and, yes, of course, it is in fino' CHamoru but you'll find the English translation in the GuamPDN.com website. My columns appear on the first and third Tuesday of every month. So, please check it out.
